DocKIT’s new Enterprise Keyword feature support

The Enterprise Keyword function when applied, contributes to better and relevant search results. It is a robust way to expand keywords, improve your corporate taxonomy and make the Items more search friendly to the end users.

If the user can apply these keywords during migration, then it makes post migration search quicker. It helps the user find the relevant Items from the imported content quickly and begin working with it in SharePoint. Thus quickly completing the intended task of using data in SharePoint.

Enterprise Keywords

Enterprise keywords are added to Items for better search and to get relevant results. They are sourced from a non-hierarchical term set called the Keyword Set. They are added to the Enterprise Keyword column. The column allows the user to select and apply Enterprise Keywords to the Items along with managed terms to improve tagging and expand metadata.

Both the Enterprise Keyword and the Enterprise Keyword Column as well as their uses are explained in detail at the following Microsoft pages:

How DocKIT helps with Enterprise Keywords

DocKIT for SharePoint, Vyapin’s file share to SharePoint migration tool has been updated with a feature to allow the users to update the predefined column named Enterprise Keywords in SharePoint. It allows users to update or add values to the Enterprise Keywords column in their SharePoint Sites while migrating documents along with metadata from drives and shares to Sites. It allows users to select and apply the keyword of their choice from a Keyword Set / Term Set during the migration.

DocKIT users have already been using its extensive metadata management capabilities to add and update metadata during migration to the destination Site. But the addition of the capability to update the Enterprise Keyword column takes this capability deeper. It allows users to begin working with the Items shortly after they complete the migration.
